Fatimatou Zarha Diop

Fatimatou Zahra Diop is a Senegalese professional with a remarkable career in the banking and financial sector. Born on September 20, 1957 in Dakar, she has accumulated several decades of experience in high-level positions. 

Since 2020, Fatimatou has been a member of the board of directors of BCB and WIC Capital. She has also been a member of the board of directors and audit committee of SGBS since 2017 and TOTAL Senegal since 2016. 

Since 2015, she has been a member of the IFFIm Board of Directors and co-founder and vice-president of AFRIVAC, a foundation aiming for vaccine self-sufficiency in Africa. 

Fatimatou has held various positions at the BCEAO, including National Director for Senegal (2009-2012) and Secretary General (2012-2014). She led the reform of payment systems and instruments, contributing to the modernization of the automated transfer and settlement systems (STAR-UEMOA) and interbank clearing (SICA-UEMOA). 

She holds a master's degree in economics from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (1978) and a postgraduate diploma in banking from COFEB (1980). 

Fatimatou is fluent in Wolof, French and English, with intermediate skills in German. She is also passionate about sports, music, reading and theatre. 

Fatimatou Zahra Diop continues to contribute significantly to the African financial sector, notably through her involvement in various boards of directors and audit committees, promoting growth and sustainable development.
